EMPORIUM — There will be a Veterans Day program at the Cameron County Courthouse on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. at the World War Monument.
Guest Speaker will be Army Retired Captain Timothy Richards, and the Memorial Detail will have Taps and a rifle salute. The Memorial Detail will directly precede the speaker at the Veterans Memorial Park, where there will be prayers, wreath postings, Taps and a rifle salute. All community members are invited and welcome.
There will also be a dinner on Nov. 11 at the Vets Club for all honorably discharged veterans. Sign up is at the Vets Club with a $1 registration fee. Social hour starts at 5 p.m., with a stuffed pork chop dinner at 6 p.m. It is preferred that interested parties sign up by Nov. 1, so an accurate headcount for the food can be obtained.
