A Bradford man who was stopped for walking on the street instead of the sidewalk was arraigned Monday on drug-related allegations.
Trevor Givan, 22, of 310 Congress St., is charged with possession with intent to deliver, a felony; possession of drug paraphernalia and of a small amount of marijuana, misdemeanors; false identification to law enforcement, a third-degree misdemeanor; and mandatory use of an available sidewalk, a summary offense.
According to the criminal complaint, at 12:19 a.m. Monday, a state trooper was driving on South Avenue in the area of Thompson Avenue when he saw two men walking in the street rather than on the sidewalk. The trooper stopped to speak to them, and asked them for identification. Givan gave police several false names before the trooper asked what the bulge in his pocket was. Givan produced a pack of rolling papers and a small stamped bag with marijuana in it. He was taken into custody, and a small amount of marjuana and several more stamped bags were found. While he was being placed in custody, Givan told police he was on parole.
He was taken to Bradford City Police station, where officers identified him. He was arraigned before District Judge Dom Cercone and released on $10,000 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing has been set for Oct. 20 before Cercone.
