Lengthy rallies defined the night.
In a match that featured plenty of athleticism on each side of the net, the Bradford volleyball team prevailed over Brockway in four sets (25-21, 20-25, 25-18, 25-22) Thursday at Bradford High.
“We always talk about volleyball being a fast sport and everyone coming for the kills, but tonight, everyone came for athleticism and no quit on points,” Lady Owls coach Steve Daniels said. “Both sides, somebody got an arm on the ball, or somebody got it over. It just showed terrific resilience and effort from each team.”
Alexis Hardy was crucial defensively for the Lady Owls, tallying 35 digs.
“She’s our libero,” Daniels said. “She’s a rock.”
Lydia Sarnoski added nine kills and three blocks for Bradford, while Jessica Fox recorded 15 assists.
NORTH TIER LEAGUE
Oswayo Valley 3, Smethport 0
SMETHPORT — Avaree Kellert was all over the court against Smethport, leading Oswayo Valley over the Lady Hubbers in straight sets (25-13, 25-14, 25-17).
Kellert tallied eight aces, 14 kills, two digs, two assists, 11 service points and five blocks for the Lady Green Wave. Jadyn Brabham added three aces, 10 kills, three digs, five service points and a block, while Trinity Lundy racked up four aces ,five digs, 19 assists and six points.
Praylan Perkins added two aces, six digs, 10 points, a block and a kill for OV.
Smethport was led by Alyn Thomas’ two aces, four kills, six blocks, five service points and one dig. Baylee Fitzsimmons recorded 16 digs, a kill, an ace and a service point.
Madi Faes added 10 assists, two points, an ace and a dig for Smethport, while Kaylee Swanson tacked on four digs, three kills, five points, an ace and a block.
Galeton 3, Austin 0
AUSTIN — Lauren Sauley stuffed the stat sheet for Galeton, recording four kills, six digs, two aces and nine assists on the way to a straight-set win over Austin (25-20, 25-14, 25-10).
Johanna Dickerson added five kills, two aces and 11 assists for Galeton, while Alli Macensky recorded six fills and five blocks and Olivia Rohrbaugh tallied four kills, 10 digs and an ace.
Ella Brewer had 14 digs and two kills for Austin, while Savannah Horton added six digs and two kills.
Otto-Eldred 3, Cameron County 0
DUKE CENTER — Brianna Silvis racked up four kills, eight digs, four aces and a block, leading Otto-Eldred over Cameron County in straight sets (25-12, 25-21, 25-13).
Katie Sheeler added eight kills, nine digs and seven aces for the Lady Terros, while Anna Merry recorded 19 assists and six aces and Kate Rhinehart added six kills.
CC was led by Aubree Lorenzo’s five kills and four service points. Caitlyn Palumbo added six kills and three points while Mikenna Farabaugh recorded 15 assists and four blocks.
Coudersport 3, Northern Potter 1
COUDERSPORT — Ava Wahlers racked up 15 kills, two digs and an ace to lead Coudersport over Northern Potter in four sets (25-21, 25-14, 21-25, 25-12).
Sierra Myers added eight kills and four digs for the Lady Falcons, while Savannah Myers tacked on eight kills, 10 digs and three aces. Emilee Ruter added 19 digs and three kills for Coudy.
D9 LAUREL LARGE SCHOOL
DuBois 3, St. Marys 0
DUBOIS — Despite nine assists and four kills each from Rylee Nicklas and Lindsey Reiter, St. Marys was defeated by DuBois in straight sets (25-17, 25-19, 25-21).
Holly Anthony added six kills, while Payton Bauer provided four blocks for the Lady Dutch.

Elk County Catholic 3, Johnsonburg 1
ST. MARYS — Tori Newton’s 15 kills led the way as Elk County Catholic defeated Johnsonburg in four sets (25-21, 18-25, 25-18, 25-17).
Gabby Weisner added 10 kills, while Madison Marzullo had seven kills and Moira Stanisch racked up 24 assists and four aces.
