DuBois slowed the Bradford boys soccer team’s offense in the first half, but couldn’t keep the Owls off the board in the second stanza, as eight second-half goals powered Bradford to a 9-1 win over the Beavers.
Jake Franz got Bradford on the board early, scoring on an assist from Lucas Johnson. Franz’s second goal, assisted by Andrew Kane, not only proved to be decisive, but opened up a 20-minute period in which Bradford scored seven goals.
Kane scored three minutes after Franz’s second, assisted by Mitch Strauss, while Strauss got on the board two minutes later on a goal assisted by Cameron Austin. Austin would then score two goals of his own over the next five minutes, each assisted by Kane.
Andy Mangold tallied a goal in the 57th minute, assisted by Ward Kennedy, while Kennedy scored three minutes later on an assist by Drage Waterman. After handing out three assists, Kane scored his second goal of the game on a Strauss assist just before the end of regulation.
Tristan Dragoone made four saves in goal for Bradford.
The Owls junior varsity also defeated DuBois, 3-0.

Elk County Catholic 2, Port Allegany/Smethport 1
ST. MARYS — Anthony Messineo’s second-half goal proved to be the difference, as Elk County Catholic handed Port United its first loss of the young season.
ECC had led 1-0 at halftime thanks to a Tanner Tasi goal before Messineo’s tally doubled the Crusader lead with 25 minutes to play. River Cramer cut the lead in half on a goal assisted by Aidan Emerick, but United failed to find the back of the net a second time.
Ryan Jovenitti made four saves in goal for ECC while Ty Guilds made four stops for Smethport.

Coudersport 3, St. Marys 2
COUDERSPORT — Ethan Ross took a lead pass, scored on a breakaway and clinched Coudersport’s first win of the season, an overtime decision over St. Marys.
Hunter Bundy assisted on Ross’ goal, which was necessary after the Flying Dutchmen netted two second-half goals following a two-goal halftime deficit. Matt Palmer scored each of the St. Marys goals, which came within 48 seconds of one another, as the second-half clock approached 13 minutes to play.
Jacob Hooftallen scored Coudy’s first goal on a direct kick while Micah Batson scored the Falcons’ second tally on an assist from Nash Delp.
Christian Furman made eight saves in goal for Coudy.
