SMETHPORT — A Bradford man pleaded guilty Thursday in McKean County Court to charges of possessing thousands of images of child pornography.
Robert Bruce Fyfe, 66, of 157 Summer St., pleaded guilty to charges involving the following: 200 images, prepubescent children, indecent contact depicted; 200 images prepubescent children, indecent contact depicted; 101 images prepubescent children, indecent contact depicted; 600 images prepubescent; 600 images prepubescent; 3,500 images prepubescent (partially nude); 300 images prepubescent children, indecent contact depicted; and 1,100 images.
McKean County District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer added additional charges prior to the guilty plea.
Fyfe will have to undergo a sexually violent predator assessment prior to sentencing, which is scheduled for 1 p.m. Dec. 16.
Fyfe remains jailed in lieu of $150,000 bail.
According to the criminal complaint, on Feb. 1, Bradford City Police received information from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children of apparent child pornography that was traced back to Fyfe’s address.
Bradford City Police served a search warrant at Fyfe’s residence. During the search, police found items of child pornography inside two locked gun safes. Included were “no less than 1,000 photographs depicting minors engaged in various sexual activities,” the complaint stated.
No less than 900 of the photos were of children “posing naked in a sexual manner,” and about 50 were of children engaged in sexual activity, the complaint stated.
Police also found electronic storage devices, including flash drives, which contained child pornography. During an interview with police, Fyfe admitted the images were child pornography, said there were more images on the DVS and flash drives and some would be of “pre teens engaging in sexual activity with adults,” the complaint stated.
Fyfe allegedly told police he had been collecting the images for about 10 years, the complaint stated.
