A Bradford woman is facing criminal charges for allegations that she was using someone else’s bank card.
Kristy D. Schlopy, 36, was arraigned Monday before District Judge Richard Luther on charges of access device fraud, a third-degree felony; theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, first-degree misdemeanors.
According to the criminal complaint, on March 15, a man reported to Bradford Township Police that someone was using a bank card to make purchases from the account that he and his wife share. The man printed off a copy of the bank statement and highlighted purchases that were not authorized.
The total amount missing from the account was $1,793.43, the complaint alleged.
During the investigation, police received information that indicated that Schlopy had used the bank card, the complaint stated. An officer tried to set up an interview with her, but she was unable to attend an interview that was scheduled and never answered or returned calls from police.
Schlopy is in McKean County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is set for June 16.
