Festa Italiana will forgo the traditional three-day event for one more year, but this year “Festa to go” will provide the taste of the event on a monthly basis over the summer.
Officials for Festa Italiana announced Thursday that caution and a lack of clear guidance as coronavirus-related mandates continue to change have influenced the decision.
There is good news, however, for those who were faced with another year of missing out on Italian cuisine: Festa To Go will share Festa favorites on the third Tuesday of each month this summer.
The first Festa To Go is set for 4 to 9 p.m. June 15. Next to the Italian Club, Muffaletta sandwiches, Hot Pepper salad and cannolis will be available. Tables will be set up for those who wish to enjoy their meal outdoors that day.
Gov. Tom Wolf initially said that all but the mask mandate would be lifted as of Memorial Day. Wolf’s goal was to see 70% of the state’s adult population vaccinated before lifting the mask requirement.
However, since that statement was released, contradicting information indicates that individuals who are vaccinated can go without masks at certain locations, including stores that have lifted the mask requirement.
Meanwhile, state officials did say that businesses are allowed to set their own requirements for mask wearing.
