HS Baseball and Softball Roundup: Lady Owls down Coudy; O-E rallies to beat Smethport

COUDERSPORT — Leatrice Kakolewski’s 3-for-3, three RBI day, Carli Persichini’s three RBI and Adrienne Angell’s four hits powered Bradford to an 11-6 road win over Coudersport.

The Lady Owls (2-12) built an 11-0 lead thanks to four-run innings in the third and fifth. Coudy battled back with a five-run fifth and one-run sixth, but Bradford was able to hold off the Lady Falcons (7-8) for its second win of the season.

“The girls played very well today, I am super proud of them,” Bradford coach Amy Stoltz said. “They are tired — with having seven games the past six days. We have a couple injuries, but they never gave up.”

In addition to her game-high four hits, Angell recorded two RBI, while Kalie Dixon, Olivia Angell and Mary Bukowski each recorded one RBI. Olivia Angell also had two hits and two runs scored. Kakolewski, Kelsey Deming and Madison Dougherty each scored two runs as well.

On the mound, Dixon pitched a complete game with nine strikeouts, allowing five earned runs on eight hits and six walks.

“Kalie Dixon pitched a heck of a game today,” Stoltz said.

For Coudersport, Madyson Dubots-Angood, Rosalyn Page, Ava Wahlers and Aubri Thompson each had two hits, while Wahlers led the team with two RBI. Dubots-Angood also scored two runs.

Savannah Myers, Ryelle Black and Addie Myers combined to allow 11 runs (five earned) on 10 hits with eight strikeouts.
