MAY THE 4TH BE WITH YOU: If you are a Star Wars fan, chances are you know today is Star Wars Day. For those who don’t follow as closely, today is a well-known Star Wars pun that launched a holiday.
Today is a good day to host a Star Wars watch party (this is fun virtually or live and in person) and celebrate all things Jedi.
This became a recognized holiday in the early 2000’s.

NIAGARA FALLS TO GO RED: In honor of International Firefighters’ Day today and also the world’s firefighters, Niagara Falls will be transformed into an incredible, red colored water and light masterpiece on both sides of the American Canadian border.
The Falls will be illuminated red between 10 and 10:15 p.m. this evening.
The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation shared gratitude for the red color illuminations, provided courtesy of The Niagara Falls Illumination Board.
“On this date, we call on citizens in North America to remember all firefighters who paid the ultimate price to protect their communities,” said Troy Markel, Chair of the Board of Directors of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation in the United States.“They served with great honor, and their bravery will not be forgotten. I hope we can all show our support and appreciation to the firefighters worldwide who continue to protect us so well throughout the year.”
International Firefighters’ Day (IFFD) is a time where the world recognizes and honors the sacrifices that firefighters make to ensure that their communities and environment are as safe as possible.
It is also a day in which current and past firefighters are acknowledged for their contributions. International Firefighters’ Day is observed each year on the 4th of May.
