    On Monday evening, Take Off Pounds Sensibly chapter #1704 had all seven members weigh in with a loss of 4.2 pounds.

    Members are to skip sweets of any kind this week and journal for three days. Silvana was the weekly loser in waiting as well as the officer of the week. Dyvonté held the program this week and played a game where members teamed up to guess the correct answer from clues. The game was done in the form of the popular game password.

    The chapter will meet Monday at the new location at 5:30 p.m. The public is welcome to check out a meeting at the meeting room of the Lewis Run Fire Department.

    SMETHPORT — The weekly meeting of Take Off Pounds Sensibly #623 met on Tuesday evening at 4:30 p.m. with weigh-ins at Chico’s Cafe and Bake Shoppe.

    Seven members were present for weigh-ins with a loss of 2.2 pounds. Ann was the best loser, and members are to stay away from cookies this week.

    Kathy S. presented a program on the importance of adding protein to one’s diet and gave several examples of products that will help with that.

    Kathy C. was the winner of this month’s contest. She will lead the group in chair exercises to music next week.

    The Zonta Club of Bradford held its dinner meeting Tuesday at The Pennhills Club. The meeting was also held virtually for members unable to attend in person. Club President Fran Stewart opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and the Zonta Blessing. The minutes from the luncheon meeting were approved.

    Fran Stewart gave a brief synopsis of the D4 Workshops that were held virtually. Several members of the local club were able to attend the workshops.

    The Nominating Committee consisting of Frannie Runyan, Gae Culligan and Karen Cassin has successfully found a replacement for the position of vice president. Holly Puglio has accepted the office of vice president, and Kim Proper will fill the vacancy on the board of directors next year. The committee will continue with searching and recommending a slate of three board members to be elected for the next term.

    Fran Stewart reminded members that dues should be paid by today. Also noted was the May dinner meeting will be held virtually, via Zoom, only. The Service awards luncheon will be held on May 12 at the Bradford Club.

    Carol Shannon gave an update on the Scholarship Committee. The applications have all been received and the committee is reviewing them. They will announce this year’s awards in the near future.

    Stewart introduced the speaker, Greta Billings, alcohol and drug counselor. Billings has been an alcohol and drug counselor for the past 31 years. A lively and informative discussion brought to light the addictions and problems that every community faces. She included a handout on personal stress symptoms and talked of the importance of self care.

    $6 was collected in Happy Dollars. The next meeting will be held at noon May 12 at The Bradford Club.

    The meeting of Take Off Pounds Sensibly #16 was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at The First Presbyterian Church, 54 E. Corydon St.

    The meeting was called to order by Leader Vickie Johnson with the TOPS and KOPS pledge.

    The song was “When We Get Together.“

    Assistant Weight Recorder Barb Smead and Co-Leader Dianne Lewis weighed in 12 members.

    Best loser of the Week is Vickie Johnson, and Officer of the Week is Dianna Lewis.

    The secretary’s report was by Dianna Lewis.

    Household tips were by Chris McCracken, the fashion tip by Dianne Lewis and healthy tips by Elaine Harris.

    The food to avoid is all chips. The fruit is pineapple and the vegetable is peppers. Nickelodeon is jelly.

    The Bingo Contest will start in May.

    The winners of the points contest were, in first place, Virginia, and in second place, Dianna Lewis.

    The program was by Dianne Lewis on easy ways to lose weight without dieting.

    The meeting was adjourned with the Friendship Circle and the TOPS Prayer.
