At Wednesday’s Rotary Meeting, it was announced that in December 2020, the Rotary Club of Bradford surpassed $151,184 in contributions to the Rotary Foundation, which is recognized as one of the most effective and well-managed charitable organizations in the world.
“A donation of $2,205 in 2020 placed the club over the milestone amount,” according to K. James Evans, Rotary Foundation chair. “When averaged over our entire membership, this comes to $110.25 per member, the first time ever the club has contributed $100 or more per member to this cause. This means that the Bradford Rotary Club is in the ‘Every Rotarian, Every Year’ category for 2020, which requires that a club meet or exceed the $100 per member threshold.”
He explained the foundation makes a positive difference in many lives
“The Rotary Foundation has impacted the entire world in many important ways, and our club has the honor and privilege of being part of that endeavor,” he added.
The Rotary Foundation, headquartered in Chicago, promotes humanitarian causes worldwide.
“The Rotary Club of Bradford has long been committed to supporting local initiatives, non-profits and community projects like the Operation Warm Coat Drive which provides coats to children in need in our school district,” said William W. Chapman, club president. “Supporting the Rotary Foundation enables our club to also have a global impact, standing side by side with over a million Rotarians worldwide.”
The Rotary Foundation is recognized as one of the most effective and well-managed charitable organizations in the world, with 12 consecutive four-star ratings from Charity Navigator and an A-plus rating from CharityWatch.
