VFW Post 212 and Frances Sherman VFW Auxiliary have announced their annual scholarship contest.

The entry deadline is April 30, and the contest is open to graduating high school seniors who are next of kin to VFW 212 members — post, auxiliary, social — in good standing.

Applicants must submit an audio, written or visual essay with a patriotic theme of his/her choice. The essay must be a 300-word presentation.

The patriotic themed essay will be judged on patriotism, originality and delivery. The winner will be announced after judging is complete.

Official rules must be followed and the application filled out properly and turned in by deadline.
