Three more people have been arrested in connection to an Eldred shooting investigation in October.
Anthony D. Reynolds, 35, of Erie, Brittany D. Mitchell, 31, of Eldred, and Douglas S. Walczak Jr., 36, of Girard, all face robbery charges, Lewis Run-based state police reported on Sunday.
Court records indicate the trio took part in the alleged robbery on Oct. 1 in Eldred Borough — three days before Daniel Roach, 44, is alleged to have threatened Reynolds and Mitchell with a revolver. Roach told police he acted because people tried to rob him when he went to purchase 1 pound of methamphetamine from them in exchange for $10,000, according to a criminal complaint filed in Roach’s case.
Roach, who is incarcerated, was arraigned Feb. 9 on allegations related to the Oct. 4 firearm allegations.
Charges against Reynolds, Mitchell and Walczak were filed Feb. 18. While they have not been arraigned yet, court records indicate the three are already incarcerated in Erie County, where they are facing previous criminal charges.
In McKean County, Reynolds, Mitchell and Walczak are all charged with robbery-inflict threat of immediate bodily injury, a second-degree felony; along with selling a noncontrolled substance represented as a controlled substance, possession with the intent to deliver and theft by unlawful taking. Mitchell is also charged with criminal use of a communication facility, and Reynolds is charged with simple assault and summary harassment.
State police did not provide any details about the robbery cases except to say they were filed in response to the shooting investigation.
On Oct. 4, police were called to Cris Drive in Eldred Borough to investigate a report of a shooting; however, no one was at the residence when police arrived.
Upon investigation, police determined that Roach shot a revolver toward Reynolds twice, and that he put the revolver to Mitchell’s head, according to the criminal complaint.
Officials have not stated that anyone was injured on Oct. 4.
State police say the case is still being investigated.
Roach has a preliminary hearing scheduled for March 8 for his alleged actions that day, for which he faces charges including aggravated assault and discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure. However, this is just one of at least seven pending criminal cases against him.
The other three are also facing charges in other cases.
According to court records, Reynolds, Mitchell and Walczak have all been incarcerated in Erie since Nov. 18 for drug delivery allegations.
News reports from the time of their arrest indicated the three were pulled over by state police for a traffic violation on Nov. 17 in Harborcreek Township, Erie County, and police seized items including suspected meth, two BB guns and a large amount of cash. The three were allegedly conspiring to sell a substance they portrayed as meth but was either fake or only contained a portion of real meth.
All three have a trial scheduled for April 5 for the Erie County drug cases. Each has at least one additional case in Erie County, too, including a robbery case against Reynolds.
