OLEAN, N.Y. — A Bradford, Pa., woman is facing criminal charges for allegations that she drove under the influence of alcohol with two children in her vehicle.
Olean-based state police arrested Hilery K. Farrell, 38, on Saturday, following a one-vehicle accident on Limestone Run Road in the town of Carrollton. According to police, she failed field sobriety tests at the scene, and a subsequent chemical breath test at the state police barracks revealed her to have a .24% blood alcohol concentration (BAC).
The legal limit in New York state is .08%.
Farrell is facing charges under Leandra’s Law, and charges against her include two counts of aggravated driving while intoxicated (with a child passenger less than 16) and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Police did not say if anyone was injured in the accident.
Farrell was released, and she is due to appear later this month in Carrollton Town Court.
