The Pennsylvania Department of Health indicated that as of Monday there were 3,402 new cases, in addition to 2,909 new cases reported Sunday, for a two-day total of 6,311 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 234,296.
The case count in McKean County jumped by 15 cases to 208, with 162 confirmed and 46 probable. There have been 5,791 negative tests.
In Elk County, the number rose by 3 to 273 cases, 230 confirmed and 43 probable. There have been 3,417 negative tests. In Potter County, one additional case was noted for 77 total, 73 of which were confirmed and 4 of which were probable. Cameron County remains at 14 cases.
In McKean County, Bradford has had 68 confirmed cases and 22 probable. Kane has had 25 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable. Eldred and Smethport each have had 11 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable; Mount Jewett, 11 confirmed; Port Allegany, 8 confirmed, 1 to 4 probable; Crosby, Turtlepoint, Rew, Gifford and Cyclone, 1 to 4 confirmed; and Derrick City, Duke Center, Rixford, and Lewis Run, 1 to 4 confirmed, 1 to 4 probable.
In Elk County, St. Marys has had 121 confirmed and 13 probable; Ridgway has had 36 confirmed and 13 probable cases; Johnsonburg, 34 confirmed, 9 probable; Weedville, 11 confirmed; Wilcox has had 10 confirmed and 5 probable; Kersey and Benezette, 5 confirmed; Sigel and Brockport, 1 to 4 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable; Byrnedale, 1 to 4 confirmed.
The number of tests administered statewide within the last 7 days between Nov. 2 and 8 is 329,072 with 20,958 positive cases. As of Saturday, there were five new deaths and as of Sunday, there were four new deaths reported for a total of 9,024 deaths attributed to COVID-19.
Mask-wearing is required in all businesses and whenever leaving home. Consistent mask-wearing is critical to preventing the spread of COVID-19.
There are 5,629 individuals who have a positive viral antigen test and are considered probable cases and 645 individuals who have a positive serology test and either COVID-19 symptoms or a high-risk exposure.
There are 1,652 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19. Of that number, 353 patients are in the intensive care unit with COVID-19. Most of the patients hospitalized are ages 65 or older, and most of the deaths have occurred in patients 65 or older.
