Bradford Area High School graduate Master Sgt. Steven Davis has retired after serving 21 years in the military.
His official retirement date was Sept. 30.
During his service, Davis has been to numerous places in the United States and around the world.
In the United States, he has been to Quantico, Va.; Camp Pendleton, Calif.; 29 Palms, Calif.; Yuma, Ariz.; Camp Lejeune, N.C.; Cherry Point, N.C.; MCRD Parris Island, S.C.; Fort Lee, Va.; MCRD San Diego, Calif.; Albany, Ga.; and Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. Around the world he has been to Iraq; Afghanistan; Kuwait; Spain; Bahrain; Turkey; Crete; Japan, including Okinawa, Iwakuni and Tokyo; Guam; and Korea.
Davis has received numerous awards during his service.
Awards include three Meritorious Service Medals, a National Defense Service Medal, two Certificates of Appreciation, three Certificates of Commendation, an Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, a Presidential Unit Citation-Navy, four Iraq Campaign Medals, a Meritorious Mast, a Navy Unit Commendation, two Navy Meritorious Unit Commendations, a Nato Medal-ISAF Afghanistan, a Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, five Sea Service Deployment Ribbons, a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, four Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, seven Marine Corps Good Conduct Medals, a Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and an Afghanistan Campaign Medal.
