RIDGWAY — Following up on her successful first novel, “The Red Caboose-An Orphan’s Journey,” local author, Jeanette Van Zanten-Stump has released the sequel, “She Hath Wings” that will be available at the Octoberfest at Wildcat Park, located in Ludlow, on Oct. 10.
Stump did not know how to listen to the whispers of her heart until they became screams. “She Hath Wings” is a memoir of someone in search of a nurturing community. But sometimes that search leaves one vulnerable.
The setting of the book takes place in Cameron and Elk County. For 25 years, Stump was told to prepare for an Armageddon that would destroy everything she knew. She would need to learn to think for herself, and her children, against all odds.
A sequel to “The Red Caboose-An Orphan’s Journey,” a memoir of the 10 years she lived in an orphanage from age 3 to 13, “She Hath Wings” is her story of a young mother’s desire to find freedom and love. From the darkness of a lonely marriage, Stump was recruited by Jehovah’s Witnesses into a religion that isolated her and instructed her how to think. This is her journey to breaking free emotionally and spiritually.
Stump resides in Ridgway with her husband, Cliff, who will be demonstrating woodworking at the Ludlow Octoberfest.
