CARE for Children, a non-profit organization that provides services to children of all abilities, is hosting a free professional training, “Active Play!” with Diane H. Craft, Ph.D. as presenter.
The training will be offered as a three-part webinar series beginning on Monday, Sept. 21; then again, Monday, Sept. 28; and Monday, Oct. 5 from 3 to 4 p.m.
The workshop will help early childhood educators and professionals learn fun, inclusive, developmentally-appropriate physical activities that use inexpensive equipment, small spaces, and work well in home-based and center-based Early Intervention, childcare, early childhood classrooms and settings. Participants will learn the importance of physical activity to support the physical, emotional and cognitive development of young children.
Participants will earn 3 infant-toddler training hours or 3 ACT 48 hours.
Diane H. Craft, Ph.D. is a Professor Emerita of the Physical Education Department at SUNY Cortland. She has co-authored four books on developmentally appropriate, inclusive physical activity for young children including Active Play! Fun Physical Activities for Young Children. In addition, Craft has given over 265 highly-acclaimed presentations, workshops and keynotes on preschool physical activities to audiences across the nation. She is currently consulting with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as the subject matter expert on Early Childhood Physical Activity.
