The Frances Sherman VFW Auxiliary will host a ‘Club Sub’ Drive thru pickup meal on Aug. 15 at VFW Post 212, located at 94 Barbour St.
The event will begin at noon and will last until the auxiliary runs out of subs. Pre-orders are appreciated.
Each meal will consist of a 6” turkey, ham and bacon sub, chips, cookies, macaroni salad and a bottle of water and will cost $8.
Individuals who are headed to work or out for any number of fun activities, from muddin’ to kayaking or boating are encouraged to stop by and grab a meal to take with them on the go.
Proceeds benefit the Auxiliary General Fund and benefits local veterans.
“We are always doing fundraisers to raise money for our General Fund which in turn goes out to our local veterans and our community. With the ongoing pandemic we haven’t been able to do any fundraising,” Val Meacham, Frances Sherman VFW Auxiliary Secretary, said. “We’ve still been able to gift our nursing home veterans but cannot go visit them. Our focus does not waiver however. We are a creative group that will come up with something to fund our cause….our veterans!”
