EMPORIUM — Two Emporium residents were arrested after firearms and drugs were found during a search of a Shippen Township home on Tuesday morning.
James P. Tressler, 30, and Kerrianna M. Beck, 33, were arraigned Tuesday afternoon before District Judge Barry Brown and committed to McKean County Jail.
According to Emporium-based state police, at 8 a.m. Tuesday, troopers executed a search warrant at 9419 Route 120, Shippen Township. As a result of the search, law enforcement officials found numerous items allegedly related to drug and firearm use.
Police did not specify what type or amount of drugs and firearms that were discovered.
Both are charged with dealing in proceeds of unlawful activities, a first-degree felony;
two counts of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, felonies; one count of possession of a controlled substance and eight counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanors.
Additionally, Tressler is charged with 11 counts of possession of firearm prohibited, second-degree felonies.
Court records indicate that in 2009 Tressler was convicted of a felony burglary case and a felony drug delivery case. Both convictions would preclude him from possessing firearms.
Tressler is incarcerated in lieu of $75,000 bail, and Beck on $50,000 bail. Preliminary hearings for both are set for Aug. 6.
The Emporium Borough Police Department assisted state police, including Chief David Merritt and Officer Volker Kiefer, who is the handler for K9 Novak. K9 Novak helped identify several drug-related items, police reported.
