AUSTIN — Recently the Community Foundation of the Northern Alleghenies awarded four Austin High School students with the Austin Education Foundation Scholarship and the Charles McCloskey Memorial Scholarship both administered by the Community Foundation of the Northern Alleghenies.
The Austin Education Foundation Scholarship will be received by Taylor Brewer and will receive $3,500 over 4 years. Taylor Brewer was also a recipient of the Charles McCloskey Memorial Scholarship along with Parker Glover, Amber Brandt, and Payton Shupe who will receive $1,000 each.
Taylor Brewer is the daughter of Scott and Angela Brewer. Taylor plans on attending Edinboro University to major in Biology/Pre-Medicine. Throughout high school, Taylor was involved in Student Council, Enrichment, Yearbook and School Spirit Club, Varsity Volleyball, Ping-pong Club and she was a member of the National Honor Society.
Parker Glover is the son of Richard and Melanie Glover. Parker plans to attend Bloomsburg University to major in business administration.
After college, he plans to work towards his Master’s in Business Administration and to become a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Fraud Examiner certification. While attending high school, Parker was the treasurer of the National Art Honor Society, the business manager for the Yearbook Club as well as the senior class treasurer.
Amber Brandt is the daughter of Todd and Nicci Brandt. Amber plans on attending Mansfield University to major in sport nutrition. During high school, Amber participated in softball, basketball, and volleyball. In 2019, she was the 2019 Maple Sweetheart candidate.
Payton Shupe is the son of Blair and Brooke Shupe. Payton plans to attend West Virginia University to major in biochemical engineering. Payton is the vice president of the National Honor Society, a member of student council, a member of the Yearbook Club, and is in Enrichment. Payton is a member of the Pride Committee in Austin, as well as a member of the Austin Baseball Association.
