Gifford man accused of making death threats

A Gifford man is in McKean County Jail after allegedly making death threats.

Donald J. Fowler Jr., 51, of 3001 Route 646, was arraigned early Monday morning before District Judge William Todd on charges of terroristic threats, a first-degree misdemeanor, and summary harassment.

The criminal complaint states that 12:07 a.m. Monday, Lewis Run-based state police were dispatched to Fowler’s home for an inactive domestic dispute.

According to the complaint, Fowler brought over paperwork to file for a divorce, and he and his wife got into an argument in the garage. Fowler allegedly pushed her into a door, causing a lump on her head; then, he got a pair of scissors and said he would kill her and her family.

Fowler is in jail in lieu of $15,000 bail, and a preliminary hearing is set for July 13.
