Unofficial results have Michael Armanini leading for the Republican ticket and Ryan Grimm on the Democratic ticket, vying for state representative for the 75th District.
The seat is currently held by Rep. Matt Gabler, who announced he would not seek re-election.
On the Republican ticket, three candidates were vying to make the fall election while one candidate ran unopposed for the Democratic nod.
The three candidates received the following breakdown of votes in Elk County: Michael Armanini, who led unofficial voting results Tuesday with 2,144 votes, 67% of the unofficial total;
Lisa Labrasca Becker with 1,031 votes (31%) and Michael Clement with 183 votes (5%).
Meanwhile, Ryan Grimm ran unopposed on the Democratic ticket, recording 1,400 votes.
Clearfield County results, with 68 of 70 districts reporting, had Becker leading with 2,319 votes (53%), Armanini second with 1,260 votes (29%) and Clement with 821 votes (18%).
For Grimm, votes totaled 932 in Clearfield County.
For the overall race, Armanini edged Becker with 3,404 votes to her unofficial tally of 3,350.
With the number of mail-in ballots received this year, the results may change when those ballots are counted.
Gabler’s announcement came in February of this year, as the 36-year-old legislator and member of the National Guard noted he looks forward to being a private citizen. He also indicated he had no desire to run for state Senate, despite Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati’s announcement that his seat would be vacated.
