POETRY: We received this letter from David Hoffman of Bradford.
He wrote it in the style of a poem, which he called “They.”
Just another day of mindless TV.
You get to watch what they want you to see.
Twenty-four more hours of their bureaucracy.
Take not for granted your freedom to be free.
Let not this “virus” stifle you and me.
Know that an ending is not so far away.
Pray for the sunshine, a start to a brand new day.
We may not be together but we are not that far apart.
They tell us there’s a “left” they tell us there’s a “right.”
They will try to divide and conquer,
‘Til there’s no one left to fight.
Total control is their ultimate goal,
But they will never win because they got no soul.
Batten down the hatches and tighten up the border.
Seems like we’re headed to the “new world order.”
God Bless America.”

TODAY: It’s Cinco de Mayo!
While in modern times it has become a day known for imbibing copious amounts of alcohol, it is actually a commemoration of the Mexican Army’s victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War.
While the battle was not a big strategic win, it was a great symbolic victory for the Mexican government and bolstered the resistance movement.
According to History.com the holiday is relatively minor in Mexico, but has become a larger commemoration in the U.S. of Mexican culture and heritage.
