COUDERSPORT — A Coudersport man is facing allegations that he failed to comply with registration requirements under Megan’s Law.
Dakota J. Caskey, 23, of Shinglehouse, is charged with failure to register with Pennsylvania State Police and failure to provide accurate registration information, both second-degree felonies.
According to Coudersport-based state police, on Jan. 29, they began investigating possible Megan’s Law violations against Caskey. Police allege that Caskey failed to provide accurate and updated information as required.
Police list the timeframe and place of the incident as between 10:29 p.m. Jan. 29 and 4:23 p.m. Feb. 27 at 3084 E. Second St., Sweden Township.
Caskey is free on $50,000 unsecured bail, and a preliminary hearing is set for March 31.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police Megan’s Law website, Caskey must register as a sex offender for 15 years for a conviction of indecent assault. The victim was a minor at the time of the allegations in 2016, the website indicates.
