    Lewis Run man to serve prison time for firearm, assault cases

    SMETHPORT — A Lewis Run man accused of possessing a firearm and assaulting a fellow inmate was sentenced Thursday in McKean County Court to a term in state prison.

    Steven M. Holly, 43, of Lewis Run, will serve three to six years in prison with credit for 99 days of time served for charges in two cases. He must also pay $6,800.56 in restitution in the assault case. Holly is charged in one case with possession of firearm prohibited and in the second with simple assault.

    Holly pleaded guilty Jan. 23 to allegations that on Nov. 7, he possessed a firearm when he is someone who is not allowed to possess a firearm due to a prior felony drug conviction; then, on Nov. 25, while an inmate at McKean County Jail, Holly hurt a fellow inmate, who suffered a broken jaw.

    Also in court, Chad E. Dowell, 34, of Bradford, was sentenced to seven months to two years in state prison with 149 days of credit for time served for charges of terroristic threats and simple assault. On Jan. 2, Dowell pleaded guilty to allegations that on Sept. 17, he threatened to kill his girlfriend with a knife and punched her in the face and body, causing substantial pain.

    Devin R. Jenkins, 31, of Shinglehouse, pleaded guilty to charges of aggravated assault, DUI-general impairment and summary charges. According to Assistant District Attorney Bridget Murphy, on Jan. 5, 2019, Jenkins struck a police officer in the right eye and nose several times, injuring the officer, and Jenkins was driving under the influence of alcohol. He will be sentenced March 5.

    Michael G. Tyman, 54, will serve 60 days to 23 ½ months in McKean County Jail credit for 20 days of time served for charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct and a summary charge. According to court records, a jury found Tyman guilty of the charges on May 24, 2016, and a bench warrant was filed for Tyman when he failed to appear for his sentencing date on June 16, 2016.

    Trevor Elder, 26, of Smethport, will serve 28 days to one year in McKean County Jail with credit for 28 days of time served for charges of flight to avoid apprehension and possession of drug paraphernalia. On Jan. 23, Elder pleaded guilty to allegations that on Oct. 25, he escaped from an addiction treatment center in Philadelphia and traveled to Bradford knowing there was an active warrant for him; he also possessed a small box that had been used to hold a controlled substance.

    Coty J. Redeye, 34, of Bradford, will serve 18 months of probation for a charge of simple assault. On Jan. 9, Redeye pleaded guilty to allegations that on Oct. 23, he squeezed the throat of a woman, leaving red marks.

    Lorrie A. Achar, 53, of Bradford, will serve five years of probation with a term of restrictive probation for charges of DUI-alcohol.

    John E. Taylor, 48, of Kane, will serve five years of probation with a term of restrictive probation for charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and DUI-controlled substance and a summary charge.

    Sarah M. Waid, 36, of Rixford, will serve 45 days to six months in McKean County Jail and one year of concurrent probation for charges of DUI-general impairment, habitual offenders and summary charges.

    Joshua W. Blanchard, 34, of Shinglehouse, will serve three days to six months in McKean County Jail for charges of DUI-controlled substance and a summary charge.

    Roland A. Good, 36, of Mount Jewett, will serve one year of probation with a term of restrictive probation for a charge of driving while license is suspended or revoked.

    Bailey R. Bush, 23, of Kane, will serve six months of probation with a term of restrictive probation for charges of possession of marijuana-small amount for personal use, possession of drug paraphernalia, DUI-general impairment and summary charges.

    Kyle L. Roberts, 35, of Kane, will serve six months of probation with a term of restrictive probation for charges of DUI-alcohol and a summary charge.
