Pistol threat allegations bound to court
Charges against a Bradford man accused of holding a pistol in another man’s face were bound to McKean County Court at a hearing Wednesday before District Judge Dominic Cercone.
Jeremy R. Bowen Jr., 22, of 160 Summer St., is charged with terroristic threats, a first-degree misdemeanor; simple assault, a second-degree misdemeanor; possession of a controlled substance and three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors.
The criminal complaint states that at 6 p.m. Jan. 11, Bradford City Police were dispatched for a report of a domestic dispute in the area of 3 Charlotte Ave. Police were notified that one person was reportedly waving a gun.
Officers approached the scene, one from Mechanic Street and another from Kennedy Street, and found one man holding another man — Bowen — down on the ground. The first man told police that the gun was on Bowen’s hip, and an officer took the gun from its holster. The pistol was put in a police car. A clip from the pistol was found on the ground nearby, the complaint stated.
According to the complaint, witnesses told police that Bowen and a female had been having an argument about a phone, and the other man intervened and tried to get Bowen to return the phone. Instead, Bowen allegedly pulled a gun and pointed it in the man’s face, telling the man to take a step back. The man tackled Bowen to hold him until officers arrived.
Bowen was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine, a pipe and a scale, court records stated.
Bowen is in McKean County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bail.
Most charges against Bradford man withdrawn
Most of the charges filed in December against a Bradford man were withdrawn, and the man entered a plea to a summary charge.
Justin M. Hallock, 36, who was scheduled for a preliminary hearing Wednesday before District Judge Richard Luther, pleaded guilty to one summary charge of public drunkenness. The following were withdrawn: criminal trespassing, DUI-general impairment and four summary charges.

Emily S. Thrush, 22, of Bradford, is charged with endangering the welfare of children, a first-degree misdemeanor; recklessly endangering another person, a second-degree misdemeanor; three counts of DUI-controlled substance, misdemeanors; and two summary charges.
According to the criminal complaint, at 12:06 a.m. Nov. 5, a state trooper pulled Thrush over because the vehicle she was driving had a broken tailgate.
