COUDERSPORT — It took Hannah Lary a little while to get warmed up, but once the Lady Owls junior saw that first 3-pointer go in, there wasn’t anything the Coudersport defense could do to stop her.
Lary, who had a season-low nine points in her last game, exploded for 24 points to lead Bradford to a 57-43 non-league win over Coudersport on Saturday night.
After being held in check for the first quarter, Lary hit four 3-pointers in the second frame and another three makes in the third period.
“We were shooting the ball extremely well,” Bradford head coach Bob Hannon said. “The kids just played really well together. Everyone was cheering each other on and it was just a real good team win.”
Leading 40-30 heading into the fourth quarter, Bradford (7-10) freshman Alanna Benson went off for 11 points to help the Lady Owls finish strong.
Erica Marshall had a big game on the boards for Bradford with 15 rebounds to go with her nine points, while Lary added seven rebounds and four assists to her statline.
“It was also the best rebounding game of the year out of Emily Warner,” Hannon noted of the senior’s 12 rebounds. “If she can keep that pace up it will be a real big boost for us. Also, good rebounding out of (Lea) Kakolewski and Jess Yost, who came in and gave us good minutes.”
Coudersport (12-4) got big contributions from Sarah Chambers and Lauren Stimaker, who finished with 17 and 15 points, respectively.
The 14-point deficit was the Lady Falcons’ biggest loss since a 49-27 decision to St. Marys on the second day of the season.
Bradford hosts St. Marys Wednesday.
