Business After Hours, hosted by Bradford Area Chamber of Commerce and the Bradford Chocolate Factory, was held at 7 Main St. Thursday.
Business minds of the community gathered to network and socialize while enjoying sweet treats. Sponge candy, Coco the bear-shaped cookies and various flavors of chocolate seemed to appeal to those in attendance, while items waited nearby to take a dip in chocolate fondue. In a separate spread, meatballs were a popular choice for those seeking out the not-so-sweet options.
A special discount was available for those who attended and were willing to take a short walk to the Chocolate Factory itself.
Tim Gigliotti, co-owner of The Bradford Chocolate Factory, reported that the candy store is still a popular stop for area residents.
“We have been seeing very good support (from the community),” Gigliotti said.
Chocolatier Bob Pascarella said that he has been hard at work maintaining the inventory of sponge candy, along with the many other delectable treats the Chocolate Factory carries.
“It’s more than what I expected,” he said of the candy’s popularity. Pascarella couldn’t pinpoint a specific flavor that was popular over others. However, he explained that he’s making certain flavors regularly and still has time for a new flavor every so often.
“I’m trying to make one for each new season, to keep everyone on their toes,” he noted.
Pascarella wasn’t ready to share any hints at what to expect, but chocolate fans should keep an eye out for a new flavor of sponge candy for Valentine’s Day.
