Kane won all but two contested matches en route to a 63-15 romp over Bradford in wrestling action Tuesday.
The Wolves picked up pins from Alex Bechakas (106), Isaak Johnson (113), Derek Peterson (120), Harley Morris (126), Luke Ely (145), Nate Asp (160), Teddy Race (182) and Shawn Nystrom (HWT).
In addition, Cameron Whisner (170) decisioned Bradford’s Derek Sunafrank, 3-0, while Dakota Neal (195) and Lain Hilliard (152) won by forfeit for the Wolves.
Bradford picked up a 6-2 decision win from Elijah Fitton in the 132 weight class. Fitton defeated Mason Milliron in the match. Brett Thompson picked up Bradford’s (1-4) lone pin victory of the night, with a win over Kane’s Curtis Barner in 3:24.
Andy Krainz won by forfeit for the Owls.
“I’m not real happy with this whole situation,” said Bradford coach Jamey Miller. “We’ve been working on cradle defense since day one, knowing it was a weak spot. But we got pinned and cradled all night long.”
The coach did have praise for a handful of matmen, though.
“Lucas Laktash wrestled a great match, but he just got caught at the end. Elijah Fitton wrestled a really tough match and got the win for us, and Brett Thompson just got back from the flu and won,” he said.
The Bradford grapplers will wrestle at the Mercer VFW Tournament this weekend.
