The Bradford High swim teams were swept by visiting DuBois at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford pool Thursday night.
On the girls side, the Lady Beavers beat Bradford 113-52. Winning the Lady Owls’ lone individual event was Julia Moini, who completed the 100 butterfly in 1:04.34. Moini also finished second in the 50 free.
Other strong individual finishes for the Lady Owls included Abbie Nuzzo, Emilie Reitler and Mallory Whitlow. Nuzzo took third in the 200 free and second in the 100 free, while Reitler earned a second-place finish in the 200 and took home bronze in the 500 free.
Whitlow earned runner-up finishes in the 200 IM as well as the 100 backstroke events.
The Lady Owls fell to 0-2 on the season.
On the boys side, Bradford’s Karl Gangloff had a strong personal meet, earning first-place finishes in the 200 IM, the 100 breastroke and was also a member of the Owls’ 200 medley relay team that took first place.
Joining Gangloff on that relay team that finished in 2:06.72 were Harris Bell, Gerrit Randall Klous and Ethan Little.
Gangloff won the 200 in 2:07.16 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:06.56.
“Karl had some tight races and just out touched the kid in one of them,” Bradford swim coach Katrina Cibula said. “Really strong performances by Karl in his races tonight.”
The Bradford boys, which fell to 0-2 with the loss, did not have any additional first-place finishes but picked up several second and third place results.
Aiden Wright took second in the 200 free and third in the 100 free; Bell second in the 500 free and third in the 500 free; and Little second in the 100 backstroke.
Bradford returns to the pool Monday at home against Brookville.
