DUKE CENTER — The Bradford Owls earned eight forfeit victories en route to their first Allegheny Mountain Wrestling League win of the season with a 54-18 decision over Oswayo Valley on Monday night. 

Otto-Eldred, which has a co-operative agreement with Oswayo Valley in wrestling, hosted the match. 

Despite the lopsided score, the Green Wave took three of the four contested matches on the night. OV’s Jake Rhinehart (113 pounds) pinned Quinn Lasher in 1:26 while teammate Zane Malogrino (120) pinned Jacob Lucco in 1:09 in the next weight class up. 

The Green Wave’s Colton Gietler (160 pounds) won by fall over Bradford’s Kayden Miller in the longest match of the night at 3:26. 

Bradford’s lone contested victory of the match came when Elijah Fitton pinned Ashleigh Sparling in 1:38 in the 132-pound class. 

Devan Poe, Lucas Laktash, Drake Hayden, Derek Sunafrank, Dakota Panighetti, Dawson Smith, Andrew Krainz and Dylan Mazzone earned forfeit wins for the Owls.

“I mean all in all, the kids didn’t wrestle badly,” Bradford wrestling coach Jamey Miller said. “The three kids that did lose, it comes down to a lack of experience and the stupid mistakes costing them.”

Bradford (1-2) is at DuBois on Thursday night.
