COUDERSPORT — The Penn State Extension office in Potter County will hold a class on Getting Started in Maple Syrup in January.
The class is free and will take place from 10 a.m. to noon Jan. 25 at the Extension office, 7 Water St., Coudersport.
During the class, Scott Weikert, Extension Educator, will provide the basic information needed to get started in making one’s own maple syrup. Topics will include identifying maple trees, proper tapping procedures, boiling the sap and filtering the final product.
The registration deadline is Jan. 22.
