LIGHTS: We know many of you spend a lot of time and money decorating the front of your homes for Christmas.
This year, we’d like to put together a feature article — with photos, of course — highlighting some of our enthusiastic decorators. How long have you been decorating your home? What makes it so worthwhile? How do you choose your decorations?
Stop by 43 Main St. or call us 362-6531 between 1 and 9 p.m. Sunday through Friday, or email a message to news@bradfordera.com, to share more. We’d like to arrange a photo of your decorations, too.
Reach out to us by Dec. 18 if you want to be included.

BIRDS: This Saturday marks the start of the National Audubon Society’s 120th annual Christmas Bird Count.
From Saturday through Jan. 5, birdwatchers across the U.S., Canada and other countries in the Western Hemisphere count the birds they see within a 15-mile radius. Each group — or “circle” — has a 24-hour period in which they are counting. They submit the census data to the organization.
Anyone can participate in this bird count, but they must arrange to participate with a specific circle of birdwatchers.
Find a map of the circles at www.audubon.org/conservation/join-christmas-bird-count. To join, contact the group using the contact information provided to see if there is space.
More information about the count can be found at the above website, too. The site even has a gallery of bird photographs taken by volunteers during the counts.
If you miss out on this count, you can still plan to take part in the Great Backyard Bird Count, which is organized by Audubon and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. This count will be held in February.
