Bradford girls top North East for season’s first ‘W’

ERIE — Eleven of Bradford’s 13 players scored as the Lady Owls earned their first victory of the season, a 56-38 decision over North East.

Bradford used an explosive second quarter to secure the win, as the Lady Owls outpaced North East 16-2 in the period en route to a 34-13 halftime lead.

Hannah Lary scored a game-high 23 points to lead the Lady Owls (1-2), while Erica Marshall added nine.

“It was really a great team win,” said Bradford head coach Bob Hannon. “The kids played extremely hard and well as a team.”

He added of Lary’s performance, “She shot the ball well, and give credit to Kate Huber and Erica Marshall for finding her when she was open. She works hard at it, and she’s a great shooter.”

Bradford faces Portville (N.Y.) in the opening round of the Randy Stebbins Memorial Tournament at Otto-Eldred on Friday.
