Warren man jailed for alleged theft

KANE — A Warren man is in McKean County Jail for allegedly taking money but not performing work on a Hamilton Township property.

Joshua E. Boozer, 34, of 111 Park Ave., is charged with theft by unlawful taking, theft by deception, receiving stolen property, home improvement fraud and theft by failing to make required disposition of funds received, all third-degree felonies.

According to the criminal complaint, Boozer was given a check for $5,527 for a down payment on work to be performed on a house in Hamilton Township. He cashed the check but didn’t perform the work or return the money, the complaint stated.

He was arraigned Monday before District Judge David Engman and remanded to jail in lieu of $6,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Dec. 12.

Kane man jailed for alleged attempted home invasion

KANE — A Kane man has been jailed on allegations that he tried to get into another person’s home Dec. 5 in the Borough of Kane.

Joseph Fobare, 20, of Hacker Street, is charged with attempted criminal trespass, a third-degree felony; and loitering and prowling at night, a third-degree misdemeanor.

According to the criminal complaint, at 8:45 p.m. Dec. 5, a Chase Street resident called 9-1-1 to report a suspicious person in the area. The female at the residence told police a man had tried to come into her house and she told him no, but he continued to try to enter. When the male left, he told her he would be back. She called police.

She was able to identify Fobare as the man from a photo shown to her by police. The complaint alleged that police had told Fobare before he was not to continue approaching people’s homes trying to find a place to live, the complaint stated.

He was arraigned Saturday before District Judge David Engman and remanded to jail in lieu of $25,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Thursday.

Bradford man arraigned on attempted trespass allegation

KANE — A Bradford man was arraigned Saturday on allegations involving attempted trespassing and DUI.

Justin M. Hallock, 35, of Harrisburg Run, is charged with attempted trespass, a second-degree felony; DUI and several traffic summary offenses.

According to the criminal complaint, at 11:29 p.m. Dec. 6, Foster Township police were dispatched to a truck abandoned in the road on Route 46 near the top of Rew Hill. The truck was registered to Hallock. While police were on the scene, they were dispatched to a home invasion on Summit Road, about a mile away. While officers saw footprints in the area, they didn’t find anyone.

At 12:56 a.m. Dec. 7, police were called to the same house again for a home invasion. When police arrived, Hallock was on the ground in front of the door to the home. He was placed in custody and into the patrol car. The resident told police Hallock had been told he was not welcome at the home, the complaint alleged.

Hallock denied that he had been driving the truck, but his fiancee had come to the police station and said the two had fought, and Hallock left driving the truck, the complaint alleged.

Hallock was taken to the hospital for a blood draw for suspicion of DUI.

He was arraigned Saturday before on-call District Judge David Engman and remanded to jail in lieu of $10,000. He is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Thursday.
