Lt. John C. Roche VFW Post 212 and Frances Sherman VFW Auxiliary had announced the 2019 Patriot’s Pen essay contest winners.
Earning first place honors is Isabella Prince, and tying for second place are Marina Newman and Kendall Case.
Awards will be presented at 7 p.m. Dec. 11. Entrants, their families and guests are invited to attend. Light snacks will be provided.
Isabella, daughter of Ed and Andrea Prince, is a seventh grade high honor roll student at Floyd C. Fretz Middle School. She loves science and hopes to move on to engineering for her future. Bella plays on her school soccer team and a community team and practices with a club team in Buffalo, N.Y. She is part of the yearbook club as well. In her spare time she loves hunting, boating, camping, fishing and hanging out with her friends.
Isabella’s essay has moved on to the District level for judging.
Marina, daughter of Brodrick and Julie Newman, is a seventh grade student at Floyd Fretz Middle School, where she is a member of the Science Club. She enjoys volleyball, ice skating, swimming and biking.
Kendall, daughter of Tom and Kelly Case, is a seventh grade honor student at Fretz Middle School. She is part of the yearbook club and student council. Kendall is a member of the Lady Fretz Owls Soccer Team and has been a part of the Bradford United Soccer travel team. She is a dancer at Studio B Dance Academy, and she enjoys baking/cooking, painting, crafting, hunting and fishing. She is a fan of the Buffalo Sabres.
