A longtime Bradford business, under new ownership since September, is getting a different look.

Kim and David Glenn signed the paperwork for the New Keystone Restaurant LLC on Sept. 27, and by Oct. 1 they were in the building starting “major renovating,” said Kim Glenn.

“It’s more exciting news for East Bradford,” she said. “We’re cleaning it up. We’re going to make it better.”

Kim Glenn said the workers have been calling it the “New New Keystone,” showing the changes they have been making to it.

A grand opening of the New Keystone will be held from 3 p.m. to close on Saturday. The establishment is located at 425 E. Main St. Stoneclad, a jam band from Angelica, N.Y., is set to perform from 8 p.m. Saturday to 1 a.m. Sunday, and the grand opening will include food and raffles, too.

In addition to changes to the bar/restaurant area, the Glenns are in the process of renovating the upstairs apartments, which they will rent out when they are ready.

They want to run a “friendly and clean” business where people can “come in after work and socialize,” said Kim Glenn. They want to see it become a “working man’s bar.”

Among the future plans for the New Keystone are karaoke nights on Saturdays. They plan to hold karaoke on “Thanksgiving Eve,” too.

“We’re trying to expand it and make it comfortable,” she said.

Glenn, who is also president of the East Bradford Business Association, said she is excited to see other business changes populating that section of Bradford. For instance, she noted that JJ’s Saloon is constructing a new building to move to.

She said indicated that East Bradford business owners are planning to work together to liven up the east side.

The address at 425 E. Main St. has been home to the Keystone for 70 years or more.
