DUBOIS — The Bradford girls soccer team remembers all too well what happened in last year’s meeting against Hollidaysburg.
The Lady Owls were thoroughly outplayed, registered just one shot on goal, and lost 3-0 to the Golden Tigers.
Tonight, they’ll get a chance to avenge that defeat.
Bradford travels to DuBois High School for a 6 o’clock start against Hollidaysburg in the PIAA District 6-9 Class AAA play-in game.
The winner of tonight’s game will play the District 7 champion in the first round of the state playoffs next week.
One thing working in Bradford’s favor tonight is rest. The Lady Owls haven’t played since Oct. 17, when they defeated DuBois 4-1 at home to clinch their second consecutive District 9 title. Hollidaysburg, meanwhile, won a hard-fought District 6 championship game over Bellefonte 5-3 on Monday at Saint Francis University.
The win marked the fourth consecutive district title for the Golden Tigers.
Hollidaysburg (12-6) and Bradford (12-5-1) did not have any common opponents in 2019.
