LEWIS RUN — Lewis Run-based state police were called to investigate the death of a Smethport man between 12:19 a.m. and 3:01 a.m. Saturday on Jane Ware Road in Keating Township.

In a press release, police identified the man who died as an 85-year-old Smethport resident, but the man’s name was not released.

According to police, they responded to a report of a deceased male fall victim. The caller reported that the man fell down the stairs.

The man died while he was on his way to a Medivac helicopter landing zone.

Police did not provide a cause of death.
