An individual reportedly suffered significant burns following an explosion Friday afternoon.

According to reports, an explosion occurred around 4:40 p.m. at Majestic Trails Park on Fitch Hill Road in Otto Township on Route 46.

Reports indicate gasoline was being added to a generator, and some was spilled. When the generator was started, the gas caught fire, causing an explosion. Someone near the explosion reportedly caught fire.

Rew Volunteer Fire Department and Otto Township Volunteer Fire Department were called to the scene, with Smethport Fire Department called to assist. Ambulances were also called to the scene.

Reports indicate a landing zone was set up shortly before 5 p.m., and the patient was transferred for treatment.
