RIDGWAY — St. Marys Pharmacy officially opened its specialized pharmacy at Dickinson Center’s 43 Servidea Drive location in Ridgway.
It will offer a full service dispensary and face-to-face consultations during regular business hours on weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
“We are pleased to partner with St. Marys Pharmacy to provide convenient on-site access for our patients and staff,” said Heidi Thomas, DCI executive director. “Our medical team will work closely with St. Marys Pharmacy to continue to increase medication adherence and positively affect health outcomes.”
For 120 years, St. Marys Pharmacy Inc. has been a family-owned company which started as a small hometown drug store with a few employees and has grown to become a regional healthcare provider. In addition to its three retail pharmacy locations, St. Marys Pharmacy provides specialty and long-term pharmaceutical care along with a full-service home medical equipment program serving over 11 counties in western and central Pennsylvania and employing over 100 personnel.
St. Marys Pharmacy is also pleased to announce medication synchronization for all of its retail patients via Med Sync. This new system fills all of each person’s medications on the same day each month, thereby reducing the number of trips each person has to make to the pharmacy. This service is offered free of charge and is easy to enroll. Along with Med Sync, its also offers compliance packaging to help consumers take medications more accurately and safely.
Pat Minard, PharmD, will continue to be the pharmacist-in-charge. Minard is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and has nearly 30 years’ experience as a retail/community pharmacist. He resides in Kersey.
Molly Beimel, director of pharmacy at St. Marys Pharmacy, stated, “We are very excited for the opportunity to serve the Dickinson Center patients and staff in our new location. We look forward to developing a long-lasting relationship between SMP and Journey Health, Beacon Light and Dickinson Center Inc. We share a common goal with DCI/Journey Health in that we want to improve our patient’s overall quality of life, increase medication adherence, and decrease hospital admissions.”
Dickinson Center Inc. is a non-profit organization providing behavioral health, intellectual disabilities and children’s prevention services in rural northwestern Pennsylvania. The organization has approximately 200 employees operating in Elk, Cameron, Potter, McKean, Forest, Warren, Jefferson and Clearfield counties.
