TOPS #1704
Monday’s meeting of Take Off Pounds Sensibly Chapter #1704 brought together seven members and tallied a total of 3.2 pounds lost.
The weekly program was about how sitting is the new smoking. Members discussed the TOPS article about how studies show that people are less active now than any time before. It is suggested that everyone should get 30 minutes of brisk walking five times per week. Some ways to break it down is to walk 10 minutes three times a day, add extra steps daily, use a sit-stand desk at work if possible and also while working, walk over to colleagues to give information instead of emails.
Members are to stay clear of all sweets this week and are to try to fully journal for three days.
There will not be a meeting Sept. 2.
