CLEARFIELD — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has opened a new bridge in Ceres Township.

The bridge spans Bell Run on Bell Run Road near Winger Lane. Replacing the old bridge removes it from McKean County’s list of bridges in poor condition. An average of 260 vehicles moves through this area each day.

With the new bridge open to traffic, the 14-mile detour that has been in place during the closure has been lifted.

Work is not yet complete, with paving of the bridge deck and installation of new guide rail still needed. Remaining work will be done under daylight flagging in the coming weeks and drivers should anticipate short delays. All work was performed by PennDOT McKean County maintenance.
