CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. — Gunnery Sgt. Jonathan P. Tyger, left, was promoted to his current rank at a ceremony Aug. 1.
With him is Capt. Alexander A. Morrow, an active duty Marine serving at Camp Lejeune. Both men are from Bradford, Pa. Tyger is a 1999 graduate of Bradford Area High School and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 2004. His parents are Robert Tyger and the late Myrna Rensel.
Morrow lived in Bradford from the age of 4 to the age of 12, attending George G. Blaisdell Elementary School until his family moved to the state of Indiana in 1999.
In sending the photo, Morrow wrote, “I thought it’s an interesting happenstance that two Marines are from the same small town and met each other, even 20 years after both of us last lived there.”
