BRADFORD, Pa. — An inmate at McKean County Jail is facing criminal charges after she allegedly punched a fellow inmate around 25 times.
Briana S. Rollins, 27, of Buffalo, N.Y., was arraigned Wednesday before District Judge William Todd on charges of simple assault, a second-degree misdemeanor, and harassment, a summary charge.
According to Lewis Run-based state police, at 8:21 p.m. Wednesday, they investigated an assault between two inmates: Rollins and a 29-year-old female from Ridgway whose identity was not released.
Police determined that the two women were arguing, and Rollins punched the other woman about 25 times and kicked her twice. The alleged victim suffered a bruise and swelling on her face and received medical treatment at the jail, police said.
Bail was set at $5,000 in the new case against Rollins. She is set to appear in Central Court on Thursday in that case.
Rollins has been incarcerated in McKean County Jail awaiting the resolution of two pending drug delivery cases.
According to the criminal complaint in one of the drug delivery cases, on June 12 Rollins and Leonesha S. Brown, 26, of Buffalo, sold 0.67 grams of crack cocaine to a confidential informant with the McKean County Drug Task Force. In the other case, the pair is accused of selling crack to a confidential informant on June 21.
Rollins waived a preliminary hearing in one drug delivery case and is scheduled to appear in McKean County Court Sept. 5. In the other, she has a preliminary hearing set for July 31.
Brown, who also faces two delivery cases, is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing in both cases on July 31.
