Drug delivery, fleeing police charges bound to court

Charges against a man accused of drug delivery and fleeing police had his charges bound to McKean County Court at a preliminary hearing Wednesday before District Judge Dominic Cercone.

Ivan C. Williams, 34, is charged with possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, a felony; flight to avoid apprehension, a third-degree felony; possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a small amount of marijuana for personal use, misdemeanors.

On June 6, law enforcement from several departments — the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, City of Bradford Police, Bradford Township Police and state police — conducted a felony arrest warrant at the Comfort Inn for Williams, who was wanted by Pennsylvania State Parole for absconding.

According to a criminal complaint in the case, when Williams was taken into custody, he had 3.5 grams of crack cocaine in his pants pocket. Police also seized a container with a small amount of marijuana inside, and numerous empty plastic bags containing residue of crack.

Williams told police he knew there was a warrant for his arrest and intentionally evaded arrest, the complaint stated.

Williams is in McKean County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Bradford man accused in police chase waives hearing

Charges against a man accused of leading a police chase and striking a police vehicle with his car were bound to McKean County Court at a preliminary hearing Wednesday before District Judge Richard Luther.

Michael Stone, 28, of Bradford, is charged with aggravated assault, a first-degree felony; fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, a third-degree felony; six counts of recklessly endangering another person, second-degree misdemeanors; and one count each of disorderly conduct and accident involving damage to attended vehicle/property, third-degree misdemeanors.

Stone also faces the following summary charges: exceeding the maximum speed limit by 21 mph, driving an unregistered vehicle, operating a vehicle without a valid inspection, operating a vehicle without required financial responsibility, careless driving, reckless driving, obedience to traffic control devices, turning movements and required signals, driving at a safe speed, driving while operating privileges are suspended or revoked, driving without a license and allowing illegal use of plate/card.

According to court records, at 3:22 p.m. April 28, a Foster Township Police officer tried to pull over a car driven by Stone, but it didn’t stop.

During the chase, Stone reached speeds up to 60 mph in residential areas and up to 100 mph on U.S. Route 219; at one point, Bradford City Police attempted to stop him with a police car, but Stone struck the cruiser and continued driving, court records allege.

Stone drove into New York state and was apprehended by police after he wrecked his car, according to court records.

The criminal complaint indicates Stone will be responsible for damages done to the police cruisers for Bradford City, Foster Township and Bradford Township during the incident.

Stone is in McKean County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bail.

Bradford woman’s access device fraud charges bound to court

Charges against a Bradford woman accused of stealing money from her daughter are bound to McKean County Court.

A preliminary hearing was held for Bobby J. Reid, 36, in absentia — or without her being present — on Wednesday before District Judge Dominic Cercone.

Reid is charged with two counts of access device fraud, first-degree misdemeanor and a second-degree misdemeanor.

According to the criminal complaint, Reid used her daughter’s access card at 4:21 a.m. March 4 and 6:32 a.m. March 4 at an ATM to receive a total of $100 cash.

Her daughter asked for the card back several times, and Reid would tell her she did not know where it was, court records stated. Surveillance video from Northwest Bank showed Reid allegedly using the card the morning of March 4.

When Bradford City Police went to talk to Reid at her apartment, she told the officer she didn’t have the card, but if she did she wouldn’t give it back; she said her daughter owed her something, according to the complaint.

Reid is free on unsecured bail.
