It’s nearly time to make the donuts.

Dunkin’ Donuts opens to the public at 9 a.m. on Monday, with a ribbon cutting set for 8 a.m.

A closed-to-the-public “friends and family” event is slated for today, by invitation only.

Monday morning, the coffee will be hot and the donuts will be fresh.

“The first car served in the drive thru will be a City of Bradford Police car,” explained Mayor Tom Riel, adding that the first cup of coffee sold will be to him, for his work in getting the blighted Terminal building purchased, demolished and the lot developed.

Manish Patel, CEO of Bapa Network LLC — Dunkin Donuts, said, “We hired about 30 employees — full time and part time.”

Patel said a Baskin Robbins is “in the works. We are looking to open it possibly this year.”

Higher end apartments are planned for the upstairs of the building, which is called Terminal Plaza.

The site had long been home to the Terminal Building, which had fallen into disrepair over the last decade or so and was considered a blighted building. It was in the McKean County Tax Repository in 2014 before it was purchased the following year by businessman John Kohler.

Kohler purchased several blighted houses in the vicinity as well, and demolished all of them, creating a larger lot that would be more attractive to developers.

In January 2018, he announced he was selling the larger lot to Patel, who planned a Dunkin Donuts as well as other businesses in the same plaza.
