The Women’s Literary Club of Bradford awarded its annual scholarships of $1,000 each to three 2019 Bradford High graduates at the awards program on June 4.

This year’s recipients were Olivia Belser, Robert Jimerson and Mikayla Henry.

Olivia Belser, daughter of Karl and Toni Belser, is going to Clarion University to major in their health science program. Olivia has been enrolled in the nursing program at Bradford High for the past three years. Her activities included being captain of the varsity cheerleading squad and a member of the Future Health Professionals Club. She has been a Girl Scout member and a dancer at Studio B Dance Academy. She wants to obtain a BA in nursing, a life-long dream.

Robert Jimerson, son of Robert and Suzanne Jimerson, is attending Pitt-Bradford and majoring in engineering. His activities include being a four-year member of the BAHS soccer team where he was a two-year letter winner. He was a four-year member of the Southern Tier Football Club, and an employee at Bradford Gun Club and Allegheny Site Management. Robert feels that good roads and bridges are important for a healthy society and hopes to pursue his career in this area.

Mikayla Henry, daughter of Michael Henry and Kathy Edstrom, will be attending Mansfield University majoring in health psychology. She has received regular and distinguished honors from 2015-19, and was a Nation Art Honors Society member from 2018-19. Mikayla served on the yearbook committee and Criminal Justice Club. Her goal is to become a psychologist so she can do hands-on work, and make a positive impact in people’s lives.
