PARRIS ISLAND, S.C. — Private Jaedyn Chrystofer Abrams, 18, of Bradford, Pa., graduated from the United States Marine Corps boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island on May 31. Abrams successfully completed 13 weeks of intensive basic training at MCRD Parris Island as one of 66 recruits in 2nd Battalion H Company Honor Platoon 2042.
While in recruit training, Abrams achieved sharpshooter level during rifle qualifications and obtained a tan belt within the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program.
Following ten days home leave, he will report to Camp Geiger in North Carolina for one month to receive Military Combat Training. Upon completion, Abrams will then report to MOS training in Pensacola, Fla., specializing in aviation electronics.
Abrams is the son of Shandi (Benjamin) Whitmore of Bradford, and Donald Nolder (Angelina Cogley) of Salamanca, N.Y.; grandson of Thomas (Theresa) Abrams and Rhonda Carlson of Salamanca, NY, and the late Richard (Rebecca) Nolder
